Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree AND one year of professional experience in web development and design, utilizing CSS based layout design.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.
Highly Desirable: The ability to work in a collaborative environment; skilled at development on a Macintosh OSX platform; extensive knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and Javascript; experience in Dreamweaver, BBEdit, Photoshop, RSS and Fireworks. Familiarity with XML an XSLT as well as flash development experience, including ActionScript is highly desirable.
Substitution: A combination of work experience in web development and design, utilizing CSS and HTML, which provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor’s degree.

Nature of Work: This position is located in the Web Communications Unit in University Communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This position exists to design and assist in the development of web user interfaces. As part of the web development team, this position assists clients in determining their communication goals, content, audience and format and advises them on what information should be communicated and how to do so effectively. Duties entail web production including HTML development, use of cascading style sheets, preparing graphics, and some design projects. This position develops sites for CU-Boulder colleges, schools, departments, and internally managed sites such as the CU-Boulder’s official web site, Prospective Student Center, and News Center.
