The Chief Information Officer oversees a team of 51 employees and a budget of 7.8 million dollars.</p> <p> </p> <p><b><u>RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></b></p> <p>The Chief Information Officer reports directly to the Superintendent and provides strong, collaborative, forward thinking and responsive leadership in the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and management of the District's technology programs and services.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees development, implementation and maintenance of District Technology Plan and formulates and coordinates the Department's work plans.</li> <li>Develops, secures and manages district budget for technology and telecommunication purchases and reviews, evaluates, and monitors service delivery methods and systems</li> <li>Directs development and evaluation of major software, technology and telecommunication purchases.</li> <li>Directs the implementation and support of the district's wide area network including phone services and data communication between local and remote systems. RESPONSIBILITIES<br>

•	Leading your team’s efforts in uptime of internet production systems and testing environments. <br>
•	Establish 24/7 monitoring, problem identification, escalations, and notifications related to all internet production systems, and services <br>
•	Manage budgets, staff and activities of our Data Centers and Data Center expansions globally.<br>
•	Team with Development groups to review, accept and ensure proper integration of new services into production environment. <br>
•	Identify operational issues impacting service levels and working with Operations groups to drive their resolution <br>
•	Manage vendor and partner operational relationships. <br>
•	Develop, and ensure adherence of operational policies, procedures, and expectations. <br>
•	Manage tasks impacting the tactical Operational activities of production environment. <br>
•	Generate the timely delivery of comprehensive status and executive reports for day to day operational performance and health.<br>
•	Manage internal change control processes.<br>
•	Manage capacity planning, system monitoring, and system load testing processes.<br>

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<br>
<br>
Required Skills:<br>
•	MS or BS degree in computer science or a scientific or mathematical field.<br>
•	10 years minimum technical management experience in an Operational role, managing capital and operating expense budgets, supporting Internet and/or SaaS applications in a UNIX/LINUX/Windows enterprise environment. <br>
•	Experience managing multiple data centers and developing the strategies used to maintain a highly available operational environment. <br>
•	A broad based knowledge on establishing and maintaining a centralized systems support infrastructure, plus experience working in large scale transaction processing environment. <br>
•	Data center operations experience that includes capacity planning and forecasting, disaster recovery and business continuity is key. <br>
•	Advanced knowledge of Databases (i.e. MS SQL, MySQL) and Networking services and protocols (i.e. DNS Services, TCP/IP, Web, Email). <br>
•	An ability to solve problems and move quickly in a fast-paced environment that can switch gears quickly is required.<br>
