Antique Peabody-Stiggleman Desk with front drop bench for sale and is a well preserved Peabody and Stiggleman Co. cast iron and wood school desk from the early 1900's. The Peabody and Stiggleman School Furniture Company came into being in 1902 in North Manchester Indiana. The forward facing chair has a wooden slatted seat and backrest. The desk top at the back has a pencil holder and open hole for supplies along with a storage space underneath. The frame is made of black cast iron and marked on the side by the maker. This is a sound piece of old school furniture and would certainly be a cool show piece or a nice collectors piece of Americana. Dimensions are Desktop Length 14 inches, width 21 1/2 inches. Seat Back 22 inches wide, Depth top to bottom 15 inches, Seat 12 inches deep by 22 inches wide. Overall Height Floor to top of seat 27 inches. Approximate weight of desk 40 lbs
