I have finally decided to sell my 2016 Santa Cruz Tallboy "C" model carbon dually in overall very good condition. Nothing at all wrong with the bike, just find myself wanting to bikepack more than mountain bike so I'm interested in building up something like that now instead.
The vibrant yellow carbon frame w turquoise lettering is, in my opinion, the sweetest looking of all Tallboy paint schemes. As such I took great care to preserve and protect said beautiful paint rendering thus applied AMS Honeycomb clear protective tape to the frame in strategic locations.
As you can see in two of the pictures, the frame sustained a little damage from a rock strike kicked up by my front wheel. I work with an aerospace composites engineer who repairs carbon frame frames as a side hustle, and he did a great job fixing the frame.
Build:
-Shimano XT 11 speed drivetrain through and through (cranks/shifters/ 11-46 cassette/chain), -XT brakes
-Wolf Tooth 28T Drop Stop chain ring
-Fox 34 Factory 130mm travel fork, 110mm rear shock
-Mercury X3 plus wheels (frame is 148 Boost)
-Maxxis DHF 27.5 x 2.6 front and rear
-Crank Bros aluminum handlebar @ ~760mm, -Race Face Turbine 60mm stem
-Cane Creek headset, 1 year old
Rigid seat post. WTB Volt something saddle.
Bike is 29er compatible, just requires a wheelset swap.
Sizing: XL, I'm 6'1, 32" inseam, fits fine. "Old School" XC geometry - HTA right around 68, bike climbs and descends confidently.
If the ad is up then the Tallboy is still for sale. Inquiries that simply ask if the bike is still available will be ignored. Cash only as I don't use any payment apps. Thanks.
