We have a complete set of 35 cards from the 1893 World's Colombian Exposition otherwise known as the Chicago World's Fair. The 1893 fair celebrated the 400th anniversary of Columbus's arrival on the American continent in 1492.
This set of cards is in excellent condition, especially considering they are 126 years old. Printed in 1892 by the Singer Sewing Machine Company as a give-away for visiting their booth. Included is a raffle ticket for a new Singer sewing machine. Cards measure 5-1/2" x 3-1/2". Each card has a representation of a different nationality in traditional dress using a Singer sewing machine. The reverse of each card includes a paragraph on that country. All cards are exceptional condition though the box side edges are partially split.
