What You’ll Do:
Provide consecutive interpretation in community settings
Offer simultaneous interpretation (higher pay for experience)
Translate documents (if qualified)
Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism
Follow HIPAA + national codes of ethics
Submit encounter forms within 24 hours
Maintain punctuality + quiet workspace for remote calls
Compensation
$30–$42/hr depending on language & assignment
1‑hr minimum (Spanish) / 1.5‑hr minimum (other languages)
Higher rates for legal + simultaneous interpreting
Per‑minute pay for phone/video
Extra opportunities: transcription, project management, voice‑over, multilingual video, translation
*This is an as‑needed, assignment‑based contractor role. Hours vary and are not guaranteed. Most contractors work variable hours based on demand, with flexibility to accept assignments that fit their schedule.
Requirements:
18+ with HS diploma/GED (AA+ preferred)
Reliable transportation
Computer, camera, headset, smartphone, high‑speed internet
40–64 hr interpreter training preferred
Clean background + DMV record
92–100% bilingual fluency
1+ year professional interpreting experience
Language proficiency test (preferred or required depending on language)
