I have owned 8 years.
It starts every time if the battery is good.
It has a powerful engine.
AC and heater work fine.
All doors work, and all power door-lock buttons work. The speedometer appears accurate.
Tire have less than 2000 miles on them. Rear windshield wiper does not work.
I use it 3 or 4 times a month for maybe 5 mile round trip.
I would be surprised. I would guess about 12 mpg city.
The automatic transmission works as it should. However, the gear selector is not as precise as if new.
The odometer was broken when I bought the vehicle and still does not work. Actual mileage is unknown. My guess is 200,000+
IMPORTANT: The rear window is the biggest problem. The 2000 Ford Explorer was subject to a recall because the rear-window hinges rusted out. The rear window is currently held in place with tape.
Another issue is that the driver's-side rearview mirror cannot be adjusted electronically. It is taped in place.
One final issue: the original hood support rod is gone. When servicing, the hood is currently held open by two steel rods.
