Hello, this 740iL is a running and driving work in progress. It is a engine and transmission swap out of a pre-Vanos 540i/6 speed, with a driveshaft that was built new when the conversion occurred. I acquired it a couple of years ago thinking that I would be interested in putting some effort into tackling the list of tasks required to make it nice, but have lost interest. During this time, I have been driving it and found it to be mechanically reliable, despite some issues.

List of issues:
Rust. Surface rust on a door or two, some body panels, and in the passenger's side rear jack point. I wouldn't say the surface rust is very concerning, and do believe it is possible to replace the rusted out section near the jack point.
Synchros. Some grinding going into third and fifth without double clutch/rev matching. Personally, I have preferred to drive without using these gears as the car has plenty of power to comfortably shift second to fourth to sixth.
Electrical. During my ownership, the instrument cluster has gone to intermittent for all gauges with exception to tachometer, which is always working and acts as a serviceable speedometer if you're willing to do some mental math. I suspect some ground path issue. Electrical outlets are not functional.
Heater and A/C both don't really work. The blower fan is functional, and I'm not sure if there's an electrical issue with signaling to the temperature controls or if there are issues with the heat exchangers. I have been reliant upon the seat heater for warmth, which is surprisingly effective.
Front seat backs. One side of each of the seats is stuck, common issue with BMWs of this era and there's lots of guides to fixing this online, not to say that it's particularly easy.
Trim. A number of the trim pieces are cracked/pulling away/not installed as designed.
Windshield. The windshield has two vertical cracks running the length of the windshield.

It currently comes with a set of staggered Forgestar 20" wheels that are fairly valuable and in good condition. The car can come with a second set of BMW wheels, lots of curb rash. I am open to offers.
