Food Lab Chef Instructor (Boulder)

compensation: $15 hour plus tips
employment type: part-time

Type of Position:
We are currently looking for someone to fill a part time Chef Instructor position. Must be available weekends and be able to work and teach kids and adults alike.

About the Position:

This role includes, but not limited to, instructing cooking and entertaining a crowd. This is almost a mix of FOH and BOH since the position interacts with customers. The position requires someone with a passion for hospitality, great people skills, good at following instructions and working with others. We are looking for someone to work seamlessly with the team without a lot of need for direction once they are settled in. All classes are taught in a Food Lab format and platform, with pre set menus.

Essential Functions of the Position:

To teach cooking with a positive and fun attitude.
To work well with the team and guests
To continue learning and growing as a teacher and chef
To understand, learn and exhibit the Food Lab brand in all classes and events


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Help set up for classes and events
Teaching classes
Welcoming guest, pouring them drinks, socializing with them
Clean up, sweeping, mopping, general clean up
Keeping the kitchen clean and organized

Qualifications:

Ability to move quickly when needed
Proactive, driver approach
Excellent verbal communication skills
Diplomacy and political sensitivity
Willingness to perform duties outside the job description

Preferred Experience:

2 years minimum in the F&B industry
Teaching in some form

Work Environment:

Work closely with chefs
