Butcher Block Kitchen Island - $1,400 (Boulder)

This island was custom-made for our kitchen years ago by a local furniture builder. It is perfect for food prep, with a work surface plenty large enough for rolling pie crusts and making pastries. It doubles, for us, as an in-kitchen eating spot thanks to the overhang on one side providing knee clearance.
Additional Features:
* Two large drawers 19"x20"x3.5" on front. Soft-close drawer slides.
* Overhang on back is perfect for stool-height seating.
* Low shelf holds large items like a stand mixer, big pots.
* Solid, welded steel base.
* Two legs are on casters to facilitate moving.
* Welded steel lifting/rolling handle doubles as towel bar.
* Top is removable for fitting through doorways and transport.
