If you know Bernhardt there's no need to explain, if you don't know Bernhardt please research the company on Google or any other search engine to see how long they've been around and how many families love their pieces. This buffet is amazing and anytime we've had people over it has sparked conversations. We're clearing out our storage to save money and as much as we'd love to keep it we just don't see it ever being used to it's full potential as we have now rented for years and the last two places we've lived have both had built in islands that we utilize. To be honest we've never truly utilized this to it's full potential anyways. The top two side drawers are designed to hold your serving/eating utensils and they are both still in the plastic they came in from the builders due to us not utilizing them as they were designed to be. We always kept them on the bottom and used the regular drawers on top. This is a piece that's designed to be a family heirloom for decades for most families, we just have nobody to pass it on to and we hate to see it go to waste as a catch all which is what it will end up being now that we've pulled it from storage. This is a very heavy and large piece fully assembled. It does come apart into very manageable pieces for transporting and moving. The whole top tier separates from the lower and leaves you with the six pillars, five drawers and two tiers to make moving easy. It's still heavy disassembled but very manageable for two people. We have it somewhat assembled for pictures but it can be ready to load/move in a few minutes. This was almost $1800 new and these pieces do not tend to lose value over time and most will continue to build value as you will already know or see when researching the brand. It has very minimal signs of use considering and most of the time these pieces show wear which tends to build "character" and doesn't tend to take away from their value. We aren't trying to make money or even recover the original price. We'd rather see it go to a family that will love and cherish it for the true value that it builds over time for their loved ones which is why we have it priced as low as we do. We've contacted a few auction houses but after talking with them we'd rather see it go locally on CL than some local auction house that we'd be paying a premium to as well as the buyer. Plus it most likely would be just going to some reseller that would be spiking the price to the end buyer. $750 o.b.o. We just need it out of our place and on to the next owner at this point.
