Lovely, sturdy bench! Repurposed from an antique solid cherry, Mid-1800’s, hand-crafted bed that originally came from Nicholas County, West Virginia. Mortise, tenon, and peg construction is found on the original bed components. Consists of cherry and other mixed woods in a dark, reddish-brown color. Measures 51" wide, 20" deep, and 37.5" high (at back).
The back has a straight-edged crest rail with a small, applied carving at center, 7 spindles below, turned posts with beehive finials, and spool-turned legs near bottom.
The front has square-turned posts that form spool-turned legs near the bottom, a tall rail decorated with a drawn line bead and 2 half circle cutouts on top.
