Helpful Tips:
~ The more worms you have, the more efficient composting efforts tend to be
~ Each container includes worms in various stages plus cocoons and bits of original habitat (bedding materials, food, etc.) to make transitioning a success and less stressful
~ Recommended to start with at least 1/2 pound (400+ worms), depending on budget
~ Plan on at least 1/2 lb worms per square foot. It's okay if you do less; just plan on delayed compost efforts
~ In ideal conditions, your initial worm supply should double or triple within 60-90 days
~ Have your bin ready before purchasing worms. We can help you get our favorite bin delivered right to your home!
~ Plan on keeping your bin indoors and out of direct sunlight and in a location that does not experience extreme temperature fluctuations (70-75 degrees average is ideal). A basement, garage or under the kitchen sink can all be potential options!
* at least 24-48 hours notice required for worm pick-ups or deliveries. Please allow 48-72 hrs notice for 1 lb +
