In this rewarding position, you will develop, plan and implement a wide variety of stimulating, high quality programs that meet the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and individual needs of a diverse community. The successful candidate will work directly with the residents leading and participating in various activities and outings. Full Time available. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

• On any given day, coordinators help facilitate socials, games, crafts, cooking, movies, outings, outside time, and many other fun activities
• Work with the Activities Department to bring new and exciting ideas to Balfour’s monthly calendar and encourages new suggestions
• Under the supervision of the Director, develops a written recreation plan of care for each resident. Plans of care should identify the problems, needs, and goals of the resident
• Document progress of residents according to state, federal and Balfour Retirement Community requirements
• Utilizes the standard assessment tool and care plan information in providing daily services to residents and maintains confidentiality of all resident information
• Documents 1:1 contacts with residents and attendance at all therapeutic and recreational programs
• Supports resident spiritual needs. Works with the Chaplain and/or community clergy to provide services (e.g., spiritual reading material, visits, religious programming)
• Integrates residents with the outside community through internal activities and outings (e.g., intergenerational programs, community service projects, trips, maintaining resident connections with outside community organizations)
• Attends all in-service education programs mandated by Balfour Retirement Community, state and federal guidelines
• Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly and their family members
• Ability to communicate openly, honestly and responsibly with others
• Ability to maintain a customer focus treating others with respect and integrity
• Ability to adapt and work effectively as part of a team and independently

• Effective verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle (town car and 14 passenger van)
• Must possess a current driver's license and ability to meet approved driver requirements
• Must be at least 21 years old

• Previous experience in organizing activities or event planning preferred
• 1 year Activities or Recreation Services experience preferred
• Ability to read a map and familiarity with the Denver metro area preferred

• Ability to bend, push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted
• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays as needed
