For sale is my used pumptec 5800020116 well saver pump controller. I have no reason to believe anything is wrong with this unit and in fact I have every reason to believe it's working perfectly. How? A tech from the well company that installed the original well and all of the cistern, filtration and pump system in an effort to diagnose a problem initially thought it was the pump tech unit and tested 3 different units they had on their truck and mine functioned exactly the same as theirs. As well, after testing all amps, wiring, fuses, well head, flow rate, etc they backed off the idea the pumptec was failing. Additionally I've spent multiple hours on the phone with Franklin & another tech who had me run tests and the opinion across the board is... the pump tech is fine.
So the reason I'm replacing it is because my pump is failing it turns out. And a pump is very very expensive to replace. It's working, it's just not putting out the proper amps. So it wasn't the pump tech it was the pump and the pump tec is doing its job by shutting down the system because the amps are too low. Exactly as designed. So I went to a different unit that allowed me to set a lower amp shut off level so that my system would run even if below ideal amps. It's a hack, yes. That unit isn't cheap either, but far more affordable than the entire replacement of a pump and pulling hundreds of feet of electrical conduit pipe and new pump. Not ideal, but it is what it is.
I'm selling it as is. No warranty. Cash only. You pick up. WYSIWYG If there's some way you want to test it on a bench you can do so at my location. Bring your electrical tools. Let me know if any questions.
