Field Service Technician - Compost Tea and Steam Weeding (Longmont)

Founded in 2016, Edaphic Solutions provides high quality non synthetic soil and plant care by bringing time tested ecological practices into modern land management.
We specialize in custom blended compost tea applications, steam weeding, and hot water pressure washing as alternatives to chemical treatments. Our work keeps landscapes nourished, resilient, and beautiful while supporting living soil systems.
We serve more than 200 residential properties along with farms and institutional partners throughout Boulder and Denver. We are growing and building a skilled field team for the season ahead.
What You Will Be Doing
All Field Technicians are trained in three primary service areas:
Compost Tea Spraying
You will brew biologically active compost tea in our commercial system, monitor water temperature and dissolved oxygen levels, clean and maintain equipment, and apply compost tea on residential and farm properties.
This includes driving company trucks, operating spray systems, performing deep root tree injections, communicating directly with clients, and documenting each job.
Compost tea spraying is typically done in teams of two.
Steam Weeding
You will operate high temperature steam equipment reaching over 212 degrees to kill unwanted plants without chemicals.
Steam weeding is a solo operation. You are responsible for machine setup, temperature and pressure adjustments, diesel and water monitoring, safe operation, cleanup, and professional client interaction.
Hot Water Pressure Washing
The same steam system is also used for high temperature pressure washing of hardscape surfaces.
You will clean driveways, patios, stone, and other surfaces using hot water to remove buildup and restore appearance without chemical cleaners.
Required Background
Prior experience in landscaping, horticulture, arboriculture, regenerative agriculture, irrigation, or related plant focused outdoor work is strongly preferred.
You should be comfortable working around established garden systems and outdoor equipment.
Qualifications
Experience in plant care or lawn maintenance
Mechanical awareness and confidence operating equipment
Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
Strong communication skills with clients and team members
Professional and solution focused demeanor
Pay and Growth
$25 per hour starting wage
$27 per hour after demonstrated competency
Full time preferred. Flexible scheduling may be available for the right candidate.
These are seasonal positions and we prioritize team members interested in returning for future seasons!
