Selling a reliable, discontinued Alvarez RD20SC. This is the "S" model, which features a Solid Sitka Spruce Top. Solid-top guitars are a great step up from the all-laminate (plywood) models found in starter kits. They provide better resonance, more volume, and a tone that actually improves with age.
Condition & Specs:
Cutaway dreadnought body. Physically in very good shape with minimal wear. No major dings or cracks. It is missing the bottom strap button. It’s a $5 part and a 30-second fix if you want to play with a strap.
Includes an onboard preamp and tuner. The tuner works (flashes the note), though it's fairly basic. I usually just use a phone app or standalone tuner.
Sounds balanced and bright. It’s a perfect step-up for a student or someone who wants a "beater" that actually sounds better than laminates.
Includes a Freedom by SKB Molded Hard Case. Includes an SKB Freedom Molded Hardshell Case. SKB is an industry standard for transport because they use vacuum-molded, high-impact polyethylene rather than traditional wood. Fits snug for the dreadnought body. The case has a cosmetic indent near the headstock from travel (protected the guitar perfectly at the time, different guitar though) and the internal lid ribbon is broken so it opens flat. However, all latches are solid and it provides top-tier protection that blows away a standard wood case.
Moving soon—I am including a fresh pack of strings for free. If you’re a beginner, I’m happy to help you string it up so it's ready to go.
