For sale is a custom, handmade Grendel replica 5-string electric bass made by Michael Tobias in NY for my father in 2012. Unfortunately, my father passed away recently so I am selling his musical equipment from his long career playing electric bass.
I believe this bass was not played much. He used an off-the shelf Grendel for home practice and gigs. Hence, it is in excellent condition.
Comes with a hard and soft case.
Body: Alder
Neck: Maple with wenge fingerboard
LED side dot material from Luminlay that glow when activated.
Tuning system is Buzz Feiten
34" scale with 24 frets
Truss rod is double acting and adjusts in both directions with a 4mm Allen key.
Strings are MTD gauged: .045, .065, .085, .105, .135.
Pickups and active electronics are custom made by Bill Bartolini.
Controls are master volume and a pan pot, treble, bass cut and boost, with center click.
Three position switch is cut flat and boost at 700hz.
The bridge is 19mm and nut width should be 1.875. The weight is 8lbs on the dot.
Open to reasonable offers as I do not play electric bass so prefer this find a home where it will be appreciated and used.
