For sale is my "Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom 1942 Banner J45 Reissue" in Vintage Sunburst finish. That's a mouthful I know, but IYKYK. This is an acoustic electric guitar that absolutely booms, but with balance and clarity that outshines Martin 16 and 18 models. I purchased this new from Wildwood Guitars in Louisville, CO in the fall of 2024. I hate to let it go, but with kids on the way to college, I am thinning the heard.
This guitar is in incredible cosmetic and structural shape, and has been kept in a humidified case its whole life. Comes with its original (and really nice) arched top hard case with really plush purple interior, leather handle and brushed nickel hardware. Cash, Venmo and Paypal F&F only.
Here's the marketing blurb:
The Epiphone 1942 Banner J45 Reissue pays tribute to one of the most legendary acoustic guitars ever made: the original 1942 Gibson J45. This "workhorse," as it quickly became known, was beloved for its simple design, versatility, and reliable tone. Epiphone is now bringing back this classic in collaboration with Gibson Custom, with an eye for detail and character.
The guitar features a thermally aged solid Sitka spruce top, combined with solid mahogany back and sides, for the warm, balanced tone that makes the J45 a favorite among musicians. The mahogany neck with a V-profile is also thermally aged and features an Indian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Other distinctive details include open-gear tuners with cream buttons, a teardrop pickguard, and a rectangular bridge with a compensated bone saddle. The headstock has the classic "open book" profile with the Epiphone banner and Gibson Crown in gold silkscreen.
With its built-in L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC pickup, this guitar is ready for both studio and stage use. It comes packaged in a sturdy Red Line hardshell case with the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo. A true classic, built for modern musicians.
