This appears to be 50’s f-hole Kay tenor guitar or baritone uke (both tune the same). Models like this were produced around 1954/55 (model 901). It has a natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Its a little guitar I’d never seen, with a flat F-hole top. There is single white celluloid binding on the top and back, and the fingerboard is unbound with dot inlay. The single pickup is controlled by the volume and tone knobs mounted on the tailpiece, in the style of period Vega guitars. The one-piece wooden bridge is mounted solidly on studs. The neck on this tenor is slim and comfortable. Its in decent condition with some finish crazing. Its had its pickup and controls replaced with a Lace and volume and tone knobs (the original types had a volume know and tone switch), as you can see. The tuning pegs don’t appear to be original, but the case does (though with some damage). I’m unable to find a serial number and to date haven’t been able to document its precise age or model no. Its fun to play though.
