A big barrier to starting a food business in Colorado is the expense of building out your own commercial kitchen. Salad Ground exists to help you overcome that obstacle. We offer fully-equipped, commercially licensed, shared-use AND private kitchens in Boulder and Longmont, allowing you to build your business on an as-needed basis with lowered risk and minimized start-up costs. We believe in MORE LOCAL FOOD! We believe in nurturing the clients that choose our facility. There is no one size fits all in food production. We can provide a starting point for almost any new food company and we even host full-scale food manufacturing at our facility. We can offer a flexible time schedule or something more consistent based on your needs.
We now have 3 locations in Boulder and Longmont.
We host Caterers, Prepared Meal Companies, Farmer's Market vendors, Small Food Manufacturers, Food Trucks, Product Testers, Cooking Classes, and Food Photography Shoots.
Salad Ground kitchens are centrally located, with super-convenient access to the Boulder and Denver markets. We value cleanliness, security, and community. We have shared kitchen shifts for food trucks or other commissary uses.
Minimum monthly rates start at $315 a month for shared kitchens. Choose from blocks of 5, 7, or 6-hour shifts OR from our hourly program. Several different programs to choose from and you can choose to include long-term dry storage and some can include refrigerator/freezer space (long and short term). We charge based on your kitchen time, but when you are a member, you are able to access the facility 24/7 to accept deliveries, re-organize, make deliveries, etc. There is wireless internet throughout the facilities.
Equipment includes large Hobart mixer (80 qt), ovens, burners, griddle, Baxter rotating double rack ovens (will fit 40 sheet pans!), microwave, walk-in refrigerator, walk-in freezer, dishwasher, ice machine, and other small wares. Also, let us know if you'd like to use/store one of your machines at our facility.You'll also get access to the receiving area for pallet delivery or acceptance.
