Selling my 2017 VW Jetta S that needs a new engine. A previous owner indicated that it had potential overheating issues, and when being driven, the Jetta stalled. It was towed to the VW dealer who diagnosed it as having a broken timing belt and would need a new engine. The 1.4T (1.4L Turbo) is an interference engine. I acquired the Jetta in late August expecting to be able to replace the engine and enjoy the car. The area around the water pump indicated that it had indeed leaked coolant in the past.
Fast forward to today, two different engines were acquired from a salvage yard and both billowed out smoke. I never drove it out of the garage. The engine is currently removed from the car and the front bumper assembly unbolted. I have decided I would rather spend my time on another project and reclaim needed room in the garage. If it doesn't sell, I will install yet another engine and then decide whether to keep it. The title is clear and in my name.
The Jetta S has approximately 55K miles on it and is Silver White in color, with a black roof.It has a manual transmission. It has many modifications, some performance oriented, some cosmetic, as described below:
ECS Tuning cold air intake system [$255]
ECS Tuning big bore turbo inlet pipe [$67]
ECS Tuning rear mufflers [$]
APR coil over plugs {$162]
Bosch R spark plugs
Perhaps an APR tune
Raceland RA-ADJ-15 air shocks [$950]
Air Lift 3P/3H Performance lift kit (controller) [$380]
Air bottle and air shock regulator
Lower control arms
An unknown body kit
Carbon fiber rear spoiler [163]
Rear diffuser [$196]
G-rocker aftermarket front bucket seats [$470]
Vland II LED YHB-ST-8075 S taillights [$250[
Perhaps Vland headlights [$420]
Starlight headliner
Neuspeed RS 19x9 wheels [$1,676] with 235/35-19 Michelin tires, with edge wear
The front bumper was damaged in both the right and left upper corners when the bumper was removed to facilitate the tow to the dealership. I would need time to connect the transmission mounts, axles, tie-rods, ball joints and front wheels to enable the Jetta to roll out of the garage and onto a trailer or flatbed.
Willing to sell in various configurations, i.e. without the wheels, air suspension, etc. The stock suspension is available. If this project is of serious interest, please include your name and a phone number in your response that you can receive calls as I do not text. Please provide an offer range specifying how you would want the car configured.
