ABOUT US: We are a woman in her forties, and two men, one in his thirties, and one 40. We are friendly, cooperative, and get along really well with one another. We all hold kindness, generosity, respect, and love as guiding principals, and that includes the landlord. We have house meetings/pot lucks once a month.
ABOUT THE HOUSE: The house is located in north Boulder. It is 2500 sq. ft. and has a very unique floor plan. It was built in the 1930's, and a big addition was added in the '70's. It now has two separate and distinct second floors with separate stairways leading up to them. This provides an increased sense of privacy and quiet. The house has an open floor plan with three floor-to-ceiling south-facing windows in the large central living room. There is a gas stove and large modern fridge in the kitchen, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. We have a very large storage shed attached to the house that’s available for our use. The property is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and adjacent to a beautiful park. It has many mature trees, a six-person hot tub, gazebo, hammock, fences all around, vegetable and flower gardens, a peace pole, rabbits and squirrels who live on the property, and deer who visit us frequently. The landlord keeps the house and property in impeccable condition. We have no TV in the common spaces and would like to keep it that way. If you like gardening there are beds available for your use. An RTD stop is close by that brings you to downtown and CU.
ABOUT THE SPACE FOR RENT: The room is very large - 30 ft x 15 ft. It is the entire garden level (not basement) of the house. It is carpeted and newly painted. There are three large windows which provide western and northern light. The space has a ton of character. There is a built-in shelf running around the entire room. Rent is $1100/month plus utilities. Utilities averaged $140 per person last year, with a high of $210 in winter and a low of $105 in summer.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a financially stable, mature, and responsible person. We want someone who will fit comfortably into the overall vibe of the household, which is friendly, easy going, clean, quiet, considerate, and cooperative. We are looking for someone with experience living in a communal household. We do not want to share space with a tobacco smoker. The lease is month-to-month, with a one-year commitment.
