compensation: Our compensation is at market rates starting at $75K and going up from there depending on experience
employment type: full-time

We are a company growing at 20-30%/year over the past few years and are real. Real customers. Real employees. Real salaries. And a great working environment of about 30 people in the office.

We are looking for an EXTREMELY FAST STARTER with Groovy/Grails experience (or Java experience interested in learning Groovy/Grails, or Ruby/Rails experience interested in learning Groovy/Grails/Java)
We need someone with experience developing database-driven web applications, with an emphasis on experience in .gsp (same as .jsp, .php or .asp) and Groovy (or Java). Your primary role will be utilizing the MVC enforced architecture of Grails to create or enhance .gsp pages, and the accompanying Controllers and Services. Your secondary role will be to work with the JavaScript* side of the pages you develop which will also utilize AJAX for updates, etc. You'll need a thorough understanding of the web flow of an online application (HTTP request/response and AJAX) and an understanding of how to build CRUD web forms that also implement a business process flow and how to make all of that work with a relational MySQL DB within a MVC architecture. The foundation of the application and many features are already built, and we need your help bring it to the finish-line. You'll work closely with the lead developer who will help you learn the business processes, DB structure, and existing development platform (Groovy/Grails, GitLab Repository, MySQL DB, Linux servers with Dev, Test and Prod regions). We are looking for a fast learner who is confident they can get up to speed quickly. Your objective will be to develop code that functions well, while others will make it look pretty. This means we don't care if your socks match or not, but you must be able to grasp new concepts quickly, communicate effectively and work well with others.
This is a long term job, as long as it's a great fit. To be a great fit, you need to be a fast learner and a truly-excellent-verbal-and-written communicator who is cheerful and generally gets along well with others. First you will be learning all of the business logic and how the DB and existing application meets those needs and delivers contents from the DB into the application. Second you will be learning how to work with all of the existing technologies. Then, you'll work on implementing new code to complete the missing pieces, and fixing any issues in your own or existing code. The idea is that you already know what it takes to develop a web application on both the server-side (DB, services, controllers, .gsp, .jsp, .php, .asp, etc.) and client-side (JavaScript/jQuery/Ajax), you just need to learn the business logic and the details of the technologies we use.
This job is for a well-established small company (25+ employees currently) with excellent growth. Multiple years in a row we have made it onto the Inc. top 5,000 fastest growing companies in the nation list, and intend to stay on the list
What we'd like to see:
* Your Resume
* An email about why you think you're good fit for the position. One that makes us interested in you, of course!
If you live in Boulder, it's an easy 10-14 mile reverse commute to the office in Lafayette. Thanks!
