This rod costs $1235.00 new, and even with that ridiculous price it's sold out. So if you're looking to get one right now, your options are buy used or wait for them to make more. Luckily, this rod is in like new condition.
I originally purchased this rod several years ago. I paired it with a Orvis Mirage reel. The look, the feel, everything it's absolutely beautiful and the action is my favorite of any rod I've owned. However recently, my friend shut my car door on the rod and broke it. I used G Loomis lifetime warranty and they sent me a completely new rod, not just replacing the broken section. I believe they custom finish and hand fit the segments so they consider a set of 4 segments built together to be 1 rod and don't like sending single pieces.
I used this new rod a couple times a week for a few months. I've taken exceptional care of it, I break it down inside the rod tube anytime it's not in use. The rod itself has absolutely 0 scratches or blemishes anywhere, from the beautiful bamboo reel seat all the way to the tip. The only imperfect thing is, in the pictures the cork grip is dirty. I will look up how to properly do it without hurting the rod and clean it before you come pick it up.
The reason I'm selling it is. While it is still my favorite rod, I actually prefer cheaper rods now. And I have a chance to sell it like new since I got it replaced through warranty. This rod is so good, so beautiful and expensive that I don't want to really use and abuse it. I treat it like a baby. But I'd rather have a rod that I can throw on the ground or into a bush when I'm netting a fish and not care if it gets scratched. If you don't have the same kind of rod anxiety, then it's your win.
