Hunter ceiling fan. Brass tone, 52" and works....mostly.

I have had this ceiling fan for maybe 15 years. It is 52" and brass tone. It still works for the most part, but seemingly only on Med and Low speed. Lights work fine. You control the lights and fan with pull chains. I think the issue is either with the three-speed switch, or the capacitor. If you are feeling handy, you can likely easily fix this, or you can just use it as-is on Med or Low. You can google how to replace a capacitor, but I was ready to upgrade to a unit with a remote control.

I have to recommend an electrician install this, but if you wanted to do it, with the breaker off, you connect both wires (marked Light and Fan) to a single black wire in your ceiling box. You can also control the light and the fan with separate wall switches, just connect the wire marked Fan to your fan control (switch or speed knob), and the wire marked Light to your light switch. Note, even if you connect this to a speed control dial, it won't go faster than medium.

I have left the fan on a bench in front of my house at 1201 Alexandria St, in Lafayette. Feel free to swing by anytime and take it.
